It all begins with a quote...

“Always dream big, and don't let anyone limit your dreams because the possibilities are endless.”

~Coco Gauff

About Me…

  • I am an award-winning DEIB leader, keynote speaker, visionary, and creative changemaker who blends art, activism, and education into transformative experiences that foster belonging and spark change. With a 20+ year career dedicated to education (K-12 and higher ed) and to advancing equity and inclusion, I design and facilitate professional learning that equips educators, administrators, and community leaders with tools to create more just and inclusive environments. My cultural programming and interactive workshops push beyond traditional approaches, offering creative and thought-provoking ways to build belonging and address inequities.

A sought-after presenter at regional and national conferences including the Teaching for Social Justice Summit, Equity in the 413 Summit, the Massachusetts Partnership for Youth Equity Summit, the Maine Library Association Conference and the New England Library Association—I consistently deliver sessions that are engaging, interactive, and grounded in practical application. I am also a certified racial equity trainer, bringing both expertise and lived experience to the work of reimagining what equity can look like in schools, libraries, and community spaces.

I am a native of Springfield, MA an HBCU grad and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I am also a true crime buff, fervent reader, a music lover, avid event planner & designer, wife and a mother of two.

  • Integrity, purpose, creativity, and empathy shape the way I work. These aren't just words—they’re the foundation of everything I create.

  • I have always thrived in creative spaces, with people who dare to dream and whose ideas are outside of the box. My strength is in collaboration and developing strategic partnerships which have created many opportunities, long-term professional relationships and helped to produce some of my best work. I also believes in giving back to my community, to Springfield, where she was born and raised with a spirit of community service and the importance of supporting my fellow neighbor. We rise by lifting others so she continues to live by the Dr. Seuss quote, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not”. This quote has helped fuel my passion for creativity, for making a difference in my community and continuing to develop myself as an exceptional leader.

  • I currently serve as the Coordinator of Culture, Belonging and Educational Equity for the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative (LPVEC).

My role is to work closely with superintendents, administrators, teachers, staff and students from the LPVEC’s member districts. I am responsible for developing new programs and practices that effectively increase diversity and provide support to various groups within the organization. As the CBEE Coordinator, I provide strategic support for initiatives and programs that support inclusion and equitable access for individuals from historically excluded communities.

About VCreates

VCreates, the combination of the "V” in Vonetta and “Creates”. The idea for VCreates was created in 2022 as a way to showcase my diverse skills as an event designer/curator, keynote speaker, thought leader, writer, a creative, graphic artist, award-winning DEIB professional, journalist, researcher, visionary, and collaborator. Through VCreates, I have the freedom to create, envision, and design events and projects that reflect my interests, passion, and creativity.

VCreates will allow me to dream of a world where my love for the arts, my rich sense of culture, my passion for activism and social change come together. This idea is not just about me; it's about helping others realize their unique ideas for one-of-a-kind events and programs and bringing those visions to life.

With VCreates, I see endless possibilities—it brings me immense joy, and I’m excited to keep pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons.
